Bonnells Bay, NSW, AU

S2 venom 7, falcon 89, select v max 31

biggest sail I have done since January and feeling very sore.

what a place so sweet comming in over chop then gybing in flat water behind the point.

It is a real shame people sail the same spots and dont experiance days like today at locations that are so close and way better for wind direction we had.

in the 90,s this is where people used to sail funny how times have changed.

5-15kts occ puffs 20kts plus Sw - WSW  Buff Pt Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU - 0.69

5m Mach2 - RS2 ( 90ltre) - 21.5cm FF ( cutdown 24)

then 7m M2OD

Bit of a waste of time. I thought I was better than I am. Still too crook and I couldn't sail to save myself. I was going to rig bigger but Norm went out with a 6.3m and although he was on and off the plane he was flying in the gusts.

First use of the 5m. A great little sail -it rotates like a dream but there was nowhere near enough wind and I just couldn't get comfortable. It had no feel and I couldn't figure out where the wind was coming from. Frown Hopefully it will be better in a decent blow. I only got in the straps once 25.5kts..fell in more today than in years. Mainly when the wind suddenly disappeared.

I was stuffed after 4kms..Frown

Came in and it seemed to die even more so I risked it and rigged the 7m. Of course as soon as I hit the water it kicked back in 20kts plus and I was hanging on! Changed clewholes and then of course it died to 5-10kts again..Undecided. Changed it again and bagged it out but just not enough wind.

Stuffed up the angle of my trip back and it wasn't helped when the wind swung more WSW. Ended up walking back up the bay.

The level is right up and it was weird walking along and see healthy looking lawn 6inches under the water..

4-6" chop when there was no wind bu no flat stuff when it came in .

Pete , Norm and I then Bruce . Ian was thinking about it as I left. Looked like it was over though.

At least the van fitout worked well..Cool
