Mackay, QLD, AU

Unexpected last minute morning sail on the last of the outgoing tide. Breeze was forecast to drop back and swing from South to East and thats exactly what it did. Minimal chop and clear water but a bit underdone even on the bigger gear. CA SL72, Ezzy Lion 7.5, Talon 42. great fun.

Holloways Beach, QLD, AU

It has been a long time since we've had todays conditions at the Mud Pit. Arrived to a solid 18kts off the beach and as the afternoon wore on a solid 20+ out wider, literally a few hundred metres off the beach. Arrived to see The Captn and B2 on the greens, in heavy discussion over what we should have bought to the party. None of us expected 18 on arrival and so it was, 120+ boards and 7.8's all round.....what could go wrong Wink. Headed out on the last of the outgoing tide and it just proceded to get rougher from that point on. I havnt had dinner plate eye balls for a long time, after an extended period of lack luster breezes, but today made sure you new you were still alive. Played up at Machans in the quieter waters, but pretty soon the wind shifted and made the upwind journey hard to manage. Kel and B2 were blatting around also with that wide eyed stare that gave away the intensity of the afternoon. Great fun. Well done chaps. Ruebs turned up with his B&J gear and did a couple of laps with B2 at the end of his session.

Used: WT72, WT43, 7.8OD - Great arvo.

Lake Cootharaba, QLD, AU. Light gusty NE, still good fun on big gear. Worth the extra drive out through Cooroy and Pomona to get around McKinnin Dve which is still closed because of the bushfires at Lake Cooriobah, only another 13 mins and 17kms. Out with Russell, Neil, Sam and later Geoff. Plenty of action at bottom of Lake with crop duster planes constantly skimming low to pick up water to drop on the fires a few Kms away

Holloways Beach, QLD, AU

Gave the Bro a call because it seemed windy, all the lads were down @ Holloways already Embarassed

So I went down rigged up and everyone left, Benny offered some support Cool

On Code 103 with a 6.0 Severne Gator - It was a bit too gusty for this combo but good times were had !

Clifton Beach, QLD, AU wind 14-18 knots .Started on the FF 121 Warp 7.7 Sl1 42 then as the wind strenghtened changed down to the new (superceded) RRD xfire 108 .

Beautiful day but pretty messy water state so was a battle to get any decent speed .

Forearms gave up after 40klms so sailing fitness pretty terrible at present -retired for a nap ...SmileUndecided

Happy to get a sail in NOV-usually very Hot & still this time of year so definitely a bonus Cool

Holloways Beach, QLD, AU  Well that was unexpected!!!

Took the dog for a walk on the beach mid morning when there was hardly any breeze & the water was that flat one could have barefoot waterskied across the mud pit.  But in the space of 2 hours, the conditions went from zero to a solid 18-20kn for the most part.  Murphy's Law prevailed once again today as we all rocked up with big gear & low expectations....

Rigged up the 7.8 Severne M2 Overdrive to go with "Big Woody" Futura 124 & Tribal 36.  7.8m sail was a handful, could have rigged a 7m or less for sure!  Some of the runs felt super fast in the rough conditions!!  Had a few runs later on in the sesh using the Exocet Turbo 106, but I think by that stage, my balls had already retracted...  Think my top speed was actually on the bigger board! Surprised  Even the GW60 gps was reeling in the conditions, recording a couple of interesting data results (ie. 75kn 10sec average & 92kn 2sec!!!).  Thankfully they were removed when downloading to KA72 Laughing

Sailed with Capt'n Kel & B1, then later on in the sesh Binny joined (using his B&J gear) for a couple of runs.

Ended up being a super fun little arvo outing at the mud pit! Smile...  Feeling rather knackered now!!

Ross, I reckon all 3 of us has "Death Wish" stickers today. Looks like Kel is still to post, but even the Captn came in looking pale !!! Nice to see so many sailers on the boards, especially for this time of the year. Well done lads, North and South.
