10-15kts E then 10-20kts ENE Coal Point, NSW, AU

7.5m GT Turbo- RS4 ( 111ltres) - 43cm makani weedy

then 5.7m gator - WT 85ltre flatrocker with a few mm flex - 25cms maui ultra wave centre fin

Looked 16-18kts when I arrived but then it died down . Up and down. Rigged the big kit and went for a run to Carey bay area. The sail was ok . I was well powered at times but there were areas of confused cruiser wake  and the board was too big to be fun. c 21.5kts on the big kit .

Came in and rigged the Wt although I knew I was being optimistic. Usual hole in front of Coal and I figured if I could get up above the launch there would be enough to get going. Problem was I needed the bigger 25cm upright fin but the weed was really bad..Frown

Off the plane a bit but when I got the stronger patches it was so much fun! Tongue out I just love the feel of the board and it's springy comfy ride. The chop ( even cruiser wake ) just disappeared.

It was quite strong ( 20kts plus) over at Swansea caravan park so I did a few reaches over there in the lumps- got the 2 sec on the WT over there.  The board was great but I was fighting the sail a bit.

Stuffed a few gybes during the session  trying to keep my front arm straight on entry. I think  I'm checking my arm as I gybe instead of looking at the exit so things go downhill..Undecided Got some too though..Smile

Hugh is learning to foil. I was on the big kit  sailing just behind and below him and we were both doing about the same speed and pointing similarly until I got a lull and he kept going pointing higher. There was some big confused cruiser swells coming that I thought would cause him grief but  he just kept foiling up and down keeping board above the moving water . Very impressive!

 Tony ( 1 run B & J then foil) , Andrew , Hugh , Lajos , Craig , Tim , Russ plus others and a wing thingy.
