1536 days ago More Liptons carnage. Started out well enough, strengthening breeze and good flat water on Pt Grey. I sailed quite deep on my second run to Pt Grey so went a long way into Liptons Bay so that I could get well upwind on the next leg to Pt Grey.
Next thing I know there is a horrible crunching sound and I go over the handlebars. I turned the board over expecting to see a mashed fin but got this instead:
Not happy. Walked out afterwards and found multiple submerged steel posts, only about an inch below the surface at this tide level. Will go back and mark them soon.

Nice sail but no wgere near expected wind, played point grey for a while in the glass like water, shallow ran the 14 delta. Decided to play Liptons changed over fin for the Vector WS, best speeds in the choppier water compared to the smooth water at Point Grey. Good to see a few Pinnas and the usual reprabates from the MOB.

Good sail at the local and managed to get some runs in at point walter too. For a while I was wishing I had've rigged smaller for better speeds but all in all the bigger gear came in handy. Good to see Ricy and Chris making the most of the warm weather.

Not as much wind as hoped for, and it was very warm so not much oomph in it, but plenty of glass over at Point Grey which made for fun speed runs, if a bit scary due to the shallow water. Went over the handlebars once when not fully planing.
Luckily I did not find any rocks or submerged posts.

Wow that was just an absolute joy!
Not super powered-up, but pretty consistent for Peli and I was just loving it out there today
Went for an hour, and managed to plane for most of it and only drop one gybe. Overall just a mint sesh

Cruisy session with a bunch of Pinnas and Mandurah mob. Tried the nauti run on the delta, which isnt a great idea when you hit the chop in the middle. Never seen such glassy water at pt grey, just needed a bit more wind.
6.2 Overdrive, 54 manta, 25 TWS and 16 MUF delta.

Xfire 90, 5.8 Koncept, new 18 CL Delta
The 18 Delta worked well over the sand bar, but I must have dropped the boom on it because a small area on the trailing edge ended up slightly deformed. The trailing edges on these fins are very sharp and Chris recommends sanding them back to a square edge. Will do this so I do not cut my finger again, and to make them less fragile.
Could have done with a bit more sail, but too lazy to re-rig.
An enjoyable sail and good to see Chris and Ben.
