Peel Inlet, WA, AU wind from light to strong to moderate to light to.......Gusty Winter winds, rigged for the lighter end of things, by the time it kicked in could have been on speed gear but felt exhausted, at least I windsurfed, and there could be a lockdown so any sail is better than being locked down

Vic was out when I arrived at Liptons, and Joe turned up shortly after.

Wind was all over the place, but mainly light with a few nice gusts.

Stuck the 6.6 koncept into the new 55cm aprox 90l board with the 21cm@55deg. And took the board for it's maiden voyage. The up and down wind enabled a good test at both ends of the boards range, well not quite the top end perhaps, I didn't get overpowered on the 6.6. I'm sure the board would be fine with a smaller sail and fin in stronger wind. I'll see how long it takes me to crack 35 on it.

The flatter rocker through the middle does seem to help it plane earlier and stay on the plane longer. But the trade off is gybing ability, although I may adjust to that.

Not sure how the extra weight affects it, didn't seem a problem though.

It rides nice over the small chop we had, and trims easily, so I've got the footstraps in the right place. And the extra flat area gets out of the water easily.

Making depressions under the feet, so I can use thicker footpads worked well, they feel super comfortable. But not sure about the spray contact cement I used, one of them is showing signs of lifting on the rail. Time will tell.

Glory Holes, Australind, WA, AU. a very socially isolated sail on the inlet. Actually I was the only windsurfer on the inlet, with a couple of kiters out a couple of km away. Wind was a bit on/off, but definitely worth heading out.

Peel Inlet, WA, AU

Just nice to get out on the water. Was windy and sunny and lovely. These times make me appreciate any time on the water so much more.

Saw the captains schmick looking new board, from a good social distance. Very nice.

My bro Guy and I hit the water just before 2:00pm and set about making Scotty from Marketing proud of our social isolating prowess.  Tide was high so no smooth, no weed, but good fun going wherever I felt like sailing. That was until we had a breach of the Pesky Proof Fence. Dr (Pacey) Doldrum himself arrived on the plot and promptly becalmed us.

Things stayed dodgy until Dr Doldrum had enough and packed up. Within minutes the breeze was back and it was a sweet arvo sesh.  Rayman made a cameo appearance and was paying homage to the Teletubbies with his hair stuck up to look like one of the Teletubby antenna. Priscilla, the original Teletubby, would have been so proud.

Sweet as, to be on the water, even if the first taste of cooler weather meant I had to slip on enough rubber to make Firie proud…Top Ten Franga Day.

Liptons

Undergunned at Liptons today forever chasing that elusive gust. Good to get out and have a stretch.
