Jonski (6717km): R-soles, WA, AU Missile 49, TRXI 6.3 and MUF 24 I have been threatening to return for the past 3 years since stacking it here in a brutal fashion so today was the day. Wind was all over the show with good gusts few and far between but overall a fun adventure and no incidents to report. I will be back on the next NW for sure.
fangy (22667km): Fathers Day with The Scud at Boombas. I used up my FD leave pass to get up and join The People’s Chump(ion) at 8:00am on a Sunday, which is sacrilegiously early in my book. We both went for similar kit, rigged up and then stood in the water for 5 minutes, unable to get started and thinking maybe we misjudged the breeze. However, Huey awoke and arrived with a blast, and we both then spent the rest of the morning somewhere between overpowered and survival.
I had the ol’ Missy Flow and Koncept 6.6 combo with and early prototype FF22 speed. The tide was high and with no smooth to be found, but there was a couple of patches of rippled water which were exhilarating and a tad scary as there was a burg or two lurking just below the surface.
After a few runs I decide to head back and change onto the little F2 Axxis. The first run was good fun and I was really enjoying running up and down the chop lines, but I paid for being somewhere between and lazy and stupid...In my haste to get back out, I couldn’t be bothered finding a long enough fin bolt. I even thought at the time, “Gee this bolt is a bit short, but no worries, she’ll be right”
Which of course it wasn’t and I lost the fin a shitty long walk from the shore. The Scud, full of sibling love came past a few times to shower spray in my direction and then not offer to go and get me a spare fin. I am sooo telling Mum on the little prick.
But other than that excellent hydrotherapy stroll in the soft mud, the rest of the day was good fun. Plus when I got home there was a massive hot breaky waiting for me. Top Ten Fangy Fathers Day!

Stretch (30716km): Glory Holes, Australind, WA, AU FF89/SCR6.3&5.8/TWS29. Great sail despite the gloomy conditions with a good roll up. Rat and Waricle from MM, Dave, Steve and Dennis from OMK plus Adam from Perth. Water conditions were a bit choppy for speed, we were hoping the tide would drop more during the arvo but it wasn't too be. Great sesh regardless
waricle (17386km): Glory Holes, Australind, WA, AU ca66 kar 5.5 reboxed tws 31. Mainly cool wet windy choppy with a good turnout of sailors. Started out on the mistral speed and 21 fangy sp but too choppy to get really going. Changed to ca66 and all good, especially thru the occasional lull. Loving the ca as I was still planing thru lulls whilst other were dredging.. I fiddled and farted like an old pensioner at the start so really didn’t do much distance as a consequence. Once I had everything dialled in and got the ca flying I was enjoying the conditions. Happy days.
