What a joy to sail in the consistent wind of Coodanup (ie not at gusty Melville). Well worth the drive, and the high tide meant you could sail anywhere (well almost, as Fangy showed to the entertainment of the onlookers) and gybe right next to the shore. Early on in the WSW there ws hardly any chop, the chop picked up a bit when the wind went SW but was still less than you would get on the river.
I would have liked to have sailed longer but I have strained a tendon in my elbow (too much gardening) and it was getting progressively more painful to gybe on starboard tack, so I decided to call it a day, before it became a serious injury. The port tack gybes were steadily improving, so it was annoying to have to stop.
Looks like a rest day tomorrow. :(
Overall, a 9/10 Fangy day.
The freeway on the way home was free flowing, but I can't say the same for the boating channel in the estuary, where the boats were just about tail gating, there were so many of them. I have never seen the boat ramps so busy either. Lots of people out boating and picnicking for Australia day. I wouldn't like to have been a crab today. It would have been like armageddon.
