Fun sail. Watch showeed a 24.5 alpha, clearly not always accurate

The Spit, Lake George, SA, AU

Another great sail, rigged the big sail and then thought maybe wrong idea, in the end it was perfect. Mobs visiting the spit, at times busier than a Saigon round about, after 48km I thought fun's had time to rush home to my Child Bride. I was first to quit, some were changing to speed boards, some were going bigger sails and at least one was going for fun gear instead.

Carbon Art SL87, Pepefoil 18 Delta, 6.6 Koncept and a rubber.

Albany, WA, AU CA66 koncept 6.2 fangy 22 low water again wind good and sky 🌞 who could ask for more! Sailed with Steve, Jeremy Cliff and Ron- a local wavesail convert. 7 to 7.8 was the ideal size for today but I was happy with what I had. Good to be alive in sunny Albany.

Steve, the GW60 isn't nesecarily inaccurate, it just uses a different method to calculate separation, so in your case the GW60 had you under 50m but whatever you processed your file with didn't. It's a trackpoint to doppler distance thing

Close call on the alpha, Steve. The alpha the watch took was just barely above 50 meters wide. I think the watch uses doppler headings and speed to calculate the widths, where small errors in the doppler heading can have large effects. ka72 and other software uses track points to measure the width.
