1125 days ago Green Island, QLD, AU Looked a bit gloomy on arrival but ended up being a super fun solo sesh at sailing mecca headquarters in Tropical Far North Qld!!!
Rigged big as it was 12~15kn SSW to begin with. Soon realised there was a definite wind line further out towards Arlington, pretty much exact to the mapping Meteye had it at. Wind filled in more and more closer to the Island as the session went on turning more South which made things a little more pleasant.
Had a big moving tide to contend with, which had the teeth chattering for the first hour or so. Water depth and conditions just got better and better as the day progressed. Shame there was only the 2:30pm ferry running for the ride home = "game over" just as I was just starting to get into the groove with some fun speed runs in the last hour- solid 20kn breeze kicking in by then (smaller gear would have come in handy) ...
No rain, bugger all weed & debris, and even the sun came out to play today! Water temp sensational!! Perhaps even a top ten day!!!
Used the Jag 125, Severne 8.6 M2, BP Sabre 42.5~ then Tribal 31SW last hour
