Christchurch Estuary, . Session on the windsurfer for a change. Not fully powered but wanted to try the new Loft skinny 100% mast. Fnally got the right mast for the racing blade. Best the sail has felt since i got it. The 7.0 would of been better today but the 6.3 was very comfy. No spin outs from too much back hand pressure now and i can go upwind again without going sideways. Good session considering i was underpowered. FF 79, LRB 6.3, C3 34

Christchurch Estuary, NZ ..First time in my life that I brought four mistresses to a party, two strapped to the roof and my favourite two inside with me. Was mayhem when it was time to pack them all up and go home, won't do that again. ..Sailed three of them, by far the most fun was my 80 litre slalom, wish I hadn't wasted my energy sailing the other two first.

In the early 1990's a fellow pilot came to me with an invitation to drive 160 miles with him to the speed course at Southend-on-Sea. The deal was, put our gear together and take it in turns. He had the most suitable board, an F2 265 (the board Dave White had recently bust 41 knots with) and I had the most suitable sail, a camber induced Gunsails 6.5.

..It was also a hell of a long walk out into the Thames Estuary, and unfortunately the wind only just scraped up to 17 knots so we were a bit under powered. Nevertheless it was an interesting experience, the water was very flat indeed. ..I recorded 25.2 knots average over the set 100 metre course, I still clearly recall that 25 knots on a windsurf board felt fast and exciting, I hadn't sailed that board before and it felt electric. My friend recorded 25.6 knots - he was about 10kgs heavier than me. ..As for Dave White i can attest that he is big enough to be the lord of all Vikings, he was there that day.

Pete, it sounds to me like you're hankering for another Greenpark sandbar session.

We can guarantee you a long slog of a walk out to the wind line.

We can also guarantee that you'll go way better than 25kts over 100m.

The lake is filling up again and is almost at sailable level after being very low on water for 3 months now.

Maree, once in 3 months that's serious deprivation, is that due to injury?
