968 days ago Melville Beach, WA, AU. Exercise in futility. Since Herron Point forecast was the best, kept an eye on the wind down that way and saw that wind came in around 2:30 so started heading there. After 15mins there was some congestion so pulled over to recheck the wind. Wind had died down south. Waited another 15 mins and still dead so decided Melville would offer longer opportunity for the wind to come in so headed back. Reg was already rigged and we both went out together. Started planing pretty much straight away which was promising but soon was all over. Reg kept managing to fang around and even water start in no wind but it was chugga chugga for me. The tide was super low and the second time I got planing I kept going as far as possible but as soon as tried to gybe the fin anchored in and did the faceplant..then had to walk back to deeper waters to get going again. Had time to keep going but at 6pm there was no sign of wind so getting another hour was pointless. 120 Tabou rocket, 8.6 Severne Turbo M4, FF28
