Point Grey, WA, AU Boombas.      Wind, flat water, sun out and not a cloud in the sky.   Tide lowest I've seen it.  Thought I'd struggle with the 22 fin with tide dropping but seemed too risky going with 28 fin which would have been much better for the 8.6 sail.   Got going and was crusing around nicely at 20knots. Was glorious and first time not in the winter wetsuit.  Should have gone out in boardies.   About 20 mins in noticed my top cam had popped out.  Due to the flack I got stopping last time, I did not stop, but tried popping it back with my foot.  No surprise this ballerina move didn't work.  Since it didn't look like hurting the sail just kept going.  Since the tide was so low, took care going too far across as knew it got shallow somewhere...however, towards the end I was doing near full laps as seemed plenty of water.    Towards the end the wind was dying off near the car park and took a bit of work to get going again so the hr wasn't quite what it should have been.   Wasn't quite lined up for the long runs into Austin bay so just stayed in Roberts bay.   Did a good hr and came in for some fluids.  Tide was rising?!

Went out again and wind had dropped off so took nearly a km of chugging to get going but then wind good again.  Now was lined up for the long runs in Austin bay but at the point, the wind dropped off so decided not to push my luck and turned around.    Wind was still solid till about 1km from car park then dropped off, could keep planning with the big sail bit would be a struggle getting going again so decided to call it.  Should have come earlier as was ideal distance condidtions.   At least one Pinna was out enjoying the sunshine back'n me up and got a good hour in but he shall remain nameless as he forgot his GPS!!   Surely forgetting your GPS is a bigger crime than stopping in a squall, he who gave me a flack last time I stopped for fear of death??    The 22Fangy fin did a lot better than expected with the big sail and had no spin outs.    120 Tabou Rocket, 8.6 Severne Turbo M4, FF22.

forgetting your GPS is an unforgiveable sin. As is forgetting to charge your GPS.

defintely worse than stopping in a squall

The conditions look lovely. I am hoping for more of the same tomorrow

what time were you out?

Reg,     That glowing thing in the sky is the lightning bolt from the gods above about to strike you down for forgetting your GPS.

Anita, saw your forecast late as wasn't expecting anything but scrambled at around 9:15 after reading it.  I turned the GPS's on about 10:30 and was checking time around 10:45 to start the hr.  Looking at the data my hr came from 10:41-11:41. Stopped at noon for a drink and there was still plenty of wind about.   Sure was beautiful conditions.  At least there was plenty of bird life to share it with.

A Northerly will blow water into Boombas, so sometimes the tide does not fall as it should according to the estuary graphs
