Point Grey, WA, AU. Got a late start and no crowds today, just some nice cloud formations.   Had a new version of software to test on the DIY GPS that gave real time hr that you can actually read.  Planned to try and better the hr from yesterday by doing full laps.  Started off well with the first 7km run averaging about 23knots, gybed and too my horror I was pointing deep into Austin bay..I thought I was doing a square run but looks like a great circle arc.  A combination of wind shifting, avoiding the cay and heading downwind too much meant I was well on track to doing a Reg.Sealed  Gave up trying for hour and concentrated on digging myself out.  On the furthest point possible from car park the wind of course died.   Chugged along for 30 min or so and finally got clear of the point and wind picked back up.   Decided to stay in Robert bay to avoid a repeat, tide was pretty high and fairly choppy but kept at it whilst watching the real time display.  Wasn't ever going to beat yesterdays result as was now trucking along around 19-20knots.   Towards the end wind started dropping slightly so knew once the number stopped increasing was a good point to call it.    120 Tabou Rocket, 7.8 Severne Overdrive M2, FF22

It is good machine Anita and cheap and one of the good things to come out of all these lockdowns.  It is Belgian guy Jan Heynen's design. It can be GPSTC approved but it is on case by case basis.  You can build your own by following this thread on seabreeze.  6 solder connections is all that is needed.    https://www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Windsurfing/Gps/Another-DIY-GPS-logger-approach?page=1

For an old skool old timer, Jan's got his own YT channel (nerd warning) and he's as friendly as a Belgian horse  https://www.youtube.com/user/RP6conrad
