955 days ago Foil first for a few runs and then onto the fin, wind was really patchy esp south of King, still stocked to be out on the water for a change. Just out with Jas and Vando and Dave at the end, saw Rols come over from Manly but he bailed by the time I got out. Rig big tomorrow!

954 days ago 1 categories  Day out first time foiling on the new Severne Redwing 1400. Foil was very smooth compared to my old Naish WS and had heaps of lift. However, I had too much sail for this afternoon's foil session and struggled to get back without breaching a couple of times. The wave motion generated too much lift on the big front wing and I became overcooked at times. Could have foiled with a 5.0m2 sail in these conditions. I've also gone to a 900 mast ( from 750) and certainly one notices how high up this is! A long way down to crash, and change the nappies if one breaches unexpectedly!
