765 days ago Grassy Pt from the Causeway, CC. Bad timing today. Forecast had predicted 29-32 mph which would have been great. No sun so no chance of thermals, so did not expect more. Left home when readings were 29 mph, hit the water with low 30 readings. Tide was the highest we've seen so far, 0.9 ft, so the chop was quite big for CC. Looking for flat water (without success), we ended up 2 km upwind of the launch when the wind ramped up to 42 mph averages with 50+ mph gusts. Sailing back downwind hopelessly overpowered through the chop was a PITA and seemed to take forever.
Just got one half-hearted speedrun in before I followed Nina upwind, and quickly realized that the wind had picked up to levels where I should have been heading back to the van instead. Well, we got there eventually.
