Boombas.   Was heading out the door to try Coodanup when email from Windxtasy advised wind direction better at Boombas so diverted to there.  Arrived to excellent conditions, tide low, wind strong..almost rigged 6.3 but decided on 7.   Went with the small board and needed the 22 fin due to low tide.   Would you believe it, front brass nut seemed to have broken bolt in it...tried for a solid 15 minutes to bash it out with no success.   Then Winxtasy turned up and the wind died.   She loaned me her 22 and I went out but it was all over.   Came back in and rigged the big gear again and big board. Made a dog breakfast of this rig up, first managed to poke a hole through the sail with the mast, then stuck the boom on upside down (took a while to realise since the previous sail was right hand on left handed boom which somehow must have confused me...this despite having only rigged the big sail pretty much all year) ...Meanwhile Gloria rolled up.  Eventually got out and thankfully got a sail in, albiet in very light conditions.   Was very shallow deep in Roberts bay so was a bit dodgy gybing. Wind dropped off again and I needed to be elsewhere so gave up.   Was very pleasant in the sun but a bit miffed I missed the only wind in the last 2 months. 120 Tabou Rocket, 8.6 Severne Turbo M4, FF22

Roberts Bay, with Flex and Gloria iS111, 7 Koncept, 24FF

It seemed windy on the way down, but when I arrived Flex said "it has just droppped off", and the wndmeter was reading 9 - 13 kn. I rigged anyway. Sadly the wind did not pick up again except for the occasional gust.  The peak of wind was meant to be at 11 (when I arrived) but it was actually at 10. At leasy it was sunny and there was good company. Gloria enjoyed sailing at a new location. 24 fin was frequently scraping the bottom at 0.8 tide. Flex was doing better with a 22 - he had more power in the sail too.

Nice one ant and the intrepid travellers, sorry ant couldn’t back you up by the time I got the new board on the water managed only two 300 m runs not worth posting, the rest was history. Got to practice my light wind water starts. Board feels nice for the two runs need to readjust the foot straps and should be sweet. Went to put the back foot in the strap and totally missed, doing the splits on the water. Amazing muscle memory for me is on the mantas, now with the different board got to get used to it. Very nice 2 sec Ant. Nice to catch up today mate.  Looking forward to seeing you out on the water on your new board Boz. Should be some slick 2sec times coming your way mate. Jim i  would have thought  you would have rigged up like a well oiled machine considering how often you do it.  Nice photos. Well done Pinnas for getting out on the water, i am supa jealous. My turn nxt week if we have wind. School hoildays , covid and a heavy workload has stopped me and oh yeah no wind.Frown
