Melville Beach, WA, AU

F2 SX Large,7.5 Overdrive,42 Tectonics

Rigged too big and payed the price,my arms have grown a few more inches!

Would have loved to have been on smaller gear as the gusts were very strong

"The Brick" (134L I think) , 6m Arrows Trixx.

Woohoo - smaller boar, smaller sail...It was great fun today. So much easier....It was so much fun that I think I may retire my big 160L. Smile

I was a bit underpowered. Should have fitted 6.8.
Went accross the river without stopping, which significantly improved my NM.

Great to cath up with Windxtasy and Snake. Sorry about the boom Snake.

A fun sail with Danijel, and PB's for both of us! - and you were faster Danijel!

Your smaller board is obviously faster than your big one!

... You didn't introduce me to Snake Cry

Congrats on your PB's Damien!

Swan pipeline, Peli Pt. Got there around 2, keen to give the NM a crack, had one attempt and then cracked the arm of the boom dropping down a sizeable bit of chop Surprised Managed to get back in and go harass the nice man at stuart bell for a replacement bit. Picked up a mono while I was there too which will be my new main one. Got back but the wind was too light for any more naughties, So just had a few runs then called it a day. Pretty sweet day out really. Good to see Danijel out and about and had a few blasts with Marcel, who was a nutter and put up a 7.5 when everyone else had a 5.5. Crazy bastard!

Ripper sesh at Woodies with Mark in a steadily building breeze.  When I got on the water around 4.30 it was quite light, probably 15-18K, and the speedboard was clearly not viable.  Switched to the 93 S-Type + 34 Talon + 6.4 Koncept.  Only just planing at first, but it filled in nicely and was gusting to 25K by the end of my sesh.  Would've loved to plug in the speed board at the end, but I was out of time.

This is the quickest I've gone on this board, so pleased with the numbers.  I was hoping for a quicker alpha, but I was struggling to stay on the plane through most of my gybes, and the ones where I did were too wide.

A few kites, but by the end there was a only a couple and there were no dramas.  I did give one set of strings a nudge after some clown tacked right in front of me and I blasted past downwind of him Tongue out

Heaps of fun and really happy to get a Woodies sesh in Cool  It's been too long (last one was that epic day in Feb when I cracked a 40).

In the doghouse EDIT: I thought " I will go for a sail as I won't be able to sail over the weekend as my brother is here. Kept sailing till dusk as the wind was good". My wife thought "I must clean the house to within an inch of its life for our visitor and where is that useless lump of @#$% husband? It is his brother!"

Arrived at Woodies to find not epic wind. Rigged the 6.3 and the nonose. Headed round the corner and could barely get on the plane. Came back and changed to the sonic but it was pretty shallow so went with the 27 kinetic instead of the trusty elmo 29. Man that combo rocked!!!

Did some alphas at Pointman's suggestion as the wind was not cranking. Best alpha had a max of 29 and a min of just under 13. Just outside my top 5 alphas. Way faster than my previous best on the sonic. By now the wind was building so it was time for some speed runs. I was not sure if the wind was going to last so stayed on the sonic and it flew.

Fastest speed on the dial was a 36 on the sonic (not bad for a 2005 100L board!). Decided after a number of just sub 34 10 sec runs to switch to the nonose. Didn't get a faster peak speed but the 2 sec was marginally higher and a couple of 34+ 10sec. It was getting to sharkies and everyone had gone in and the wind was good but sense prevailed and so I called it quits.

Great session. You just got me on 2sec Pointman but pretty evenly matched otherwise. Well done.

Well done on all the Pbs, guys.

Thanks Mineral. I'm very happy today.

Well done Damien and Anita.
Damien, looking forward to meeting you one day.

And Anita took my board for  a ride, and was smokingSurprised
She left me hers to try, but I cannot sail on a shoe size board, and using handkerchiefs for a sail Laughing (She was on 4.7m and 86L board)

Anita, haven't realised you never met Snake. It's easy to spot him. Look for the fastest guy out there.

We were inspired by batting for the ashes last month. It really makes you put in that bit extra. Hope we have helped motivate you Mandurah mobbers to go for the PB's this month.

Obelix, I like your sail instead of work idea! (That's what we were doing wasn't it?)

Mineral were you online when I kept adding to my post as I thought of more things to say?

Hey Danijel, don't know if you noticed, but our results today in every category were in our top 5 list. You had only one outside your top 2!

Guess that big board is gonna be getting the flick...

Sorry you're in the doghouse, I only just made it home in time for my wife's yoga class narrowly avoiding a similar fate. Wink

..dog house...Smile  Some impressive numbers above.  I guess it was worth it. We are up to #4 (from 10?).

re:  Guess that big board is gonna be getting the flick...

It might. It got me waterstarting, hooked into into straps and harness, so it fullfilled it's purpose, but has become a handful lately.
This teenage board (it's only 16-17) is much easier to gybe. (not that I succeeded Embarassed).

I noticed some nice turns on your behalf. Only the sail flip was missing to complete.

The boom works really well. It takes some effort to fit and dismantle. a bit like a car tyre, requires a lever (screwdriver) to push the rope into the groove. Still, much easier than fighting the rope every time. Thanks for fixing that.
