Not a bad Boombas bash. Rigged for what was coming so the power was cruisey for most of it, then the black clouds came bringing some wild gusty wind and rain.

Unfortunately it roughed up the water, swung more west and made it a fair treck back upwind, but we made it.

Great to catch up with the crew

Manta 54, KAR 5.5.

Underdone on the sail for the first session, felt good but was just cruisy went for the hour and was looking good for the first 15 min, avg around 25knts, alas wind decides to back off enough to plane but not for any decent hour. Boys where playing in the smoother water in Austin should have joined them but wind was quite westerly and with the small gear decided to stay in the rougher part. Squall came through jhust before 3pm registered 35knts on seabreeze chart, no chance to hook in water was rough and being wind swept, Still good company and nice to sail the winter storms.

Got down late as usual to meet Mike and Dan having lunch break and a bunch of bush chooks hanging out at BoombasLaughing. Windsup arrived shortly after. Wind looked a little light but went with 5m sail and big board. Got out and was a bit underpowered in the lulls. Luckily wind gradually picked up as I headed downwind into Austin bay. Felt nicely powered up so went for an hour and a couple of NMs.

Squall came through as Lunny, Craig and i were headed back. 35 knot gusts and a westerly wind direction change made for a long slog upwind. Made for some good screamin Leeman practise. Congrats Dan on the PB.

Awesome session today at Boombas. Started out with Windtech 57 with 7.0 Loft Racing Blade and 29cm Tribal weedspeed fin. Changed over later in the session to the Mistral 91L and spent the rest of the afternoon on that. Good to see all the usual crew down there, Lunny, Kenny, Boz, Decrepit, Fangy and  a few others. Feeling quite knackered after an epic 123kms!

Melville Beach, WA, AU

Fun little fang around after work in a gusty westerly. M137 + 7.6 TR9 + 38 CL SL2.

Scored a few lovely powered up runs down the strip, running down the swell lines on port Smile

It faded on dusk, then booted in as it was getting dark, and Slowy, Ports and I were last men standing sending it in near total darkness Laughing

Got my quickest runs after dark, but couldn't fathom Slowy's logic (He couldn't see so he didn't slow down?) as he got 37s and 38s in the murky gloom Wink

Packed up in the rain and dark.  That was fun Cool

Nice one guys, new you had cracked the ton Dan, And looks like the 5.0 was the right choice. I went out again on the 5.4 and got slamned by a gust close to the launch.

Thanks for the nice comments guys. Just got to work on the Alphas now. I've never got better than 0 in that category so might need to review my GT-31 settings. I'm slowly creeping up the ladder - better watch your backs Lunny & Boz!!Tongue out

Dan, It's got nothing to do with the GT31 settings, if you're recording data, any alphas will be in there no matter what the settings.

Well maybe if you have min speed set higher than the gybe min  that will probably disallow alphas. So yes check the GT31 settings and make sure min speed is on "0".

But I suspect you're going too wide. If you want to send me some files you think should have alphas on them I'll check for over width.
