Rigged up the 5m around 1pm in the hopes it would go ballistic. Wind marginal for the 1st hour with some decent gusts. Wind started to pick up around 2pm so decided to sail upwind past the pylon and go for an hour. Pretty confused and steep chop out the back probably due to the swinging wind, NW to WNW. Also spotted some large flotsam out there too. Had a few crashes on the way back to base. The 23 weedy was no good going down the steep chop. Overpowered and crashed on quite a few of the gybes. Hardest hour ive ever done. Laughing

Wind seemed to pick up even more as I sailed back to the beach. A lot of smiling faces with the long awaited strong wind and even some moments of sunshine.

5m overdrive, 54 Jp Slalom, 23 vector weedy.

Epic session for a NW in the elusive chook pond, tide was optimal for 21 and below fins big turn out from the Pinnas and CST with a lonesome Mobber. Max Sp 40.52 delta when fulyy loaded still gave way to slipping an sliding. And I'm the second slowest of the 4 Pinnas in the pondLaughing Big grats to Strop put on a perfomace today that put us to shame. Great sailing with all the crews been a while with a wind drought in the West.

Great to be out with the crew at the Chook pond.

Considered not bothering today but it was quite flat with some good bullets coming through, plus it was great to see 2 mates christening some gear delivering awesome speeds.

Could have done with using a delta though as the mud and weed hung onto the fin when setting off.

Melville after work.

Got down there around 3:30 and it was nuking.  I wasn't expecting so much wind and only had a 7.6 TR9, or a 6.4 S2 (freeride sail that I use for foiling) to choose from.  Way too windy for a 7.6, so rigged the 6.4 S2 with the M112 + 33 CL SL2.

It was gusting over 30k, so pretty maxed out at times.

Had a pretty good sesh.  Found a few nice lines through the chop bearing away on port towards the car park.  My GW-60 isn't on speaking terms with my Mac, so I can't post numbers, but it would've been a 33 peak and high 31 average, which I was quite happy with given the chop and freeride sail.

Nice to get powered up again, the last windsurf was back in June!

I'm annoyed with the watch, they really are a bit dodgy Yell

Couldn't quite get everything working today. The wrong fin for a very shallow tide probably didn't help. Possibly got two runs where mud wasn't stuck to the fin. Good to see some of the big guns throwing down the gauntlet. Overall a tiring but fun session with with some maddog wind pirates.

Got a new favorite board now. Didn't expect to sail today at 11.30am until I saw Boz's WhatsApp report from Coods saying the crew in the know were waiting for the avo blow. Cheers mate and good job setting up the team App. Laughing. It was shallower than expected so I was scraping with the 25 wp but still got a 37. That was it, potential was there. Trecked back to get the CL Delta 18 and that transformed the session. Got a few nice runs and the best in a white out gust. A sensational sail with a great group of blokes. Top day for sure. JP 50 Vapor 5.6 CL Delta 18.

Huge congrats Woody and the others who made it down south. Mark it looks like you hit over 40knots on 3 different runs!Surprised Id be happy with one.

Greg I have problems connnecting the watch too. Its either the contacts on the watch needs to be cleaned or the clip has one or more prongs not protruding out of the opening.

Lovely work on the speeds today, team, and big congrats to Woody on another two big PBs. Looks like you have those 40's dialled in now.

Great work Boz, in marshalling the crew to where the best conditions were. We needed that.

Kenny - 59 km and a 17 knot hour in those conditions is a big effort. Character building if not madness.

It might look like I took the wind away with me and then brought it back, but there was none where I was.
