hoppybogan (25813km): Stansbury, SA, AU 5-3 knots then 3-1 FF102, GPS 7.3, Lessacher 28 weed Was 12knots while rigging but nearly nothing by the time we got sailing. Floated around keeping an eye on me good buddy Tricky who was sailing first time after the injury. He got through ok Thanks for the beers Richard, and hope for some wind for next time. cheers
Trousers (14352km): Le Bog, SA, AU Trusty OD6.2/BPR325 and i97. Water state was pretty good, but the gusty conditions were trying. Swings, lulls and gusts - hard to know what to rig on a day like today. Not complaining by any stretch, Good crew out lapping up the sunshine. Sailed until holes started to appear in my fingers and had to come in. [edit: PB huh? Wow - wouldn't have picked it]
Full Bogan (42931km): I personally had a great day today apart from finding a bad crack in my 400 sdm mast. The 6.3 maui is now out of action till i find another. If anyone has one going cheap let me know. There were a lot of sailers out today and was great to catch up with some i have not seen for a while. Also good to be sailing in shorts.
Tricky Bogan (21417km): WoW What a come back You realy know how good you best sailing buddy is when he will come out in a floater with you Mission was 10km to give the broken wrist a test in light 12-15k northerly, nice warm day, perfect for a test. Rigged with 11-14 knonts reasonabley steady reading on the wind metre. Perfect Rigged the 7 Loft Racing Blade, slotted the 36 Lessccher weedie in the CA Sl 120, plenty of board to dance around on & float my lazey fatter arse. Cruised out to find the wind slowly dropping after a couple of slugs I yealled out to hoppy if he had plenty of FUN yet With that I was headding in & the 10k mission was in tatters. Hoppy slugged past the jetty & slugged his way to the north beach. You realy feel for you mate when they sumarine back to the beach & then have a walk of shame on your behalf. I slugged back an forth on the kitchen door while I waited for Hoppy. then BAM 12 kns & I was planning WWHHHOOOOOO did 2 screamer runs on the super smooth water and it was gone. Headded in on the fading wind & had to pump my way the last 100m. Not quit the come back I had in mind gut the wrist got plenty of work out & the pain was bearable, hopefully that is pain & gain.
Captain skip bogan (50090km): Boggy lake - 12 to 25 knots - northerly. Fun day with a good turnout. Very gusty conditions and suffered with alot of glugging and swimming. Lost my sunnies and broke a harness hook so had a long swim back to shore. Note to self - always used 1 size bigger on gusty northerlies - i will learn one day. Patrik 87 / 6.3m Gun sails GSR and Black Project R325. |
