Grassy Pt, CC, TX. Fun to be on slalom gear on flat water again, but not enough power with 7.0/FF99/SD23 for real speed, could not go deep enough with power. Nina, who was better powered on 6.3/FF89/SD21, had no problems going 10-15 degrees deeper, which gave her a couple of extra knots (again!). I would have needed the 7.8 and a bigger fin for similar power. Wind averages were about 19 knots, gusts to 24. Gusty enough to have the speed vary by 5 knots several times in the nauti attempts.

But the water was almost 20 C again, and the air a bit warmer - a nice change from the sub-freezing temperatures only last week. Tons of dead fish in the water, and a few dead turtles that did not survive the cold (a few hundred cold stunned turtles were rescued by volunteers).

Always fun beating Peter's speeds Tongue out. First time with the "new" ca. 2016 Speed Blade 6.3 with a proper SDM mast, which seems to have a bit more power than the Racing Blade with the Loft RDM. Need a wing day again tomorrow to recover, slalom is work!
