6.6m, futura, 39 weedie./ 86 isonic, 26 mu fin. Still getting dialed in to the iso but managed a 21 on the corner. Taking a few tips from el capitano which helped, cheers Hards. Glad no one saw my full on face plant half way through a gybe. Embarassed

Went for alphas gr8 wind about 18 to 23kts as predicted (Same as yesterday), used smaller board iSo 86, same sail 6.6m, same fin JPweed31, and at least 6 alphas over 24kts, no alphas out wide, but still too tight coming in at about 25mts, need a marker out there, as ya kill speed going slightly upwind, oh well......one of these sports ya neva stop learning.

Edit just checked 5th best Alpha session eva so gotta be happy with thatCool

Hardies Run, WA, AU Futura 101, NP RS Slalom Mk III 7.0, 28cm Lessacher Chamelion

Drove South for a session with the crew, spent most of my time in Alpha land , had a PB @ 65 m proximityYell but 22 was best within 50

Best session I have had down there in ages

Got talked into a downwinder (didn't take much talking) with cory, chris and glen, from here to blue bay.

Used the 48cm speed board, 5.3m avalon sail co speed sail and the 23cm lockwood.

Wind was light on the inside, and sea fairly rough on the outside. Had a lot of trouble with gybes in both directions.

Found the odd blast out here, isn't quite enough conditioning for a full on downwinder.

For a start I don't normally go downwind on the way back in, so I found that a bit challenging.

All in all though it was a great change, might have been more comfortable on wave gear, like the other guys were using, but I think my wave gear would be a bit slow.

downwinder avi to blue bay

Straight line distance from start to finish 8.8km

Decrepit - great to see someone drawing Ws - I love downwind coast runs but they do take a bit of organising. Dont let the kiters pretend they invented them, I was doing them last century (which wasnt that long ago). Especially nice if its a bit light. For some reason we always called them coast runs rather than downwinders (probably just didnt think of it).
