Rigged too small, believed the forecastYell, but enjoyable nonetheless.  Liptons is all weeded up and inaccessible, Point Grey was the go, but never as windy on that side.  Wanted to try my new old stock sail TRXI 5.9m sweet sail, but underdone.  Mistral Speed 55/95. Pepeweed 20/48.

Tabou Manta 54, NP RSR 5.8m, Pepe weed 21cm

Wind was in at Liptons and I was there when it was blowing, whatyever is happening with the world.

I'll be brutaly honest, I was a touch intimidated as I haven't had a proper sail since the end of last season and it was a wee bit breezy.

Went across first run a bit of a bare away and only 29 on the dial, oh dear I's a bit out of sorts, next run 32 on the dial, decided to head up to the point to see if the wind was a bit better, it wasn't but I found I could gybe there so I went and did a Hardz and banged out corner after corner, Talky said I had done a High 26 and a high 24 which would have ben a PB so I was pretty pleased with myself unfortunately Realspeed doesn't take my feeling into consideration and brutalised my numbers, still I'm happy with a top 5 (just)

Ended the session with a few runs down where Hardz was playing but just didn'yt have enough sail, decided to flag it after a big off when coming to a stop.

A whole lotta fun but the bodies sore now.

Woo hoo

Great to meet Greg, and good to catch up with the local boys.

Great sail until I fudged a gybe and went through my 6.3m sail, Tongue out changed down to the 5.9m slighty underpowered but still had a ball.

And Mike your not human.. but we all know that..CoolCool

Lipton’s- olive Street, Patrick 92, Warp 6.3 Had it in my head to try a downwinder to Fangys and try to score a decent hour. Was all going well but a harness line started to let go so I crossed over the estuary and pulled in at Olive street. Had a phone so called for a lift from there. Could of turned the boom over and sailed on but my arms had taken a hammering and I thought I would quit whilst I was ahead

A big day at Fangyland with a good crowd out. Greg K from the Lake Macquarie GPSTC made his trip over worthwhile after Swindy went above and beyond and not only supplied some shiny kit for Greg to use, but also rigged and left it on the beach for him to use when he got there. Well done Swindy!

I arrived late morning and I am sure by then Can Calm had done 100k’s or so. I gambled on the breeze picking up so I went with the Party Barge and 6.6 with FangyFin24. Sludge rolled up and after some discussion on what he wasn’t to sing, he joined me for a pre lunch session . The tide was unseasonally high and a lot of the weed was submerged. As a result the top end Boundary Island end banks only had some patches of smoothish water. I had a few runs back and forth and let the Barge run down some of the choppy stuff. The Barge is, long, heavy and narrowish and I suspect, flexes like a banana, but is totally unfazed by a bit of chop. And that was pretty much the pre lunch session, just mucking around and enjoying the breeze with Pepe,Greg Swindy, Cap’n Calm and Sludge.

Post lunch I decided to try out the oldest board in my museum quiver, the Missy Edge circa 1993. I loaded up a fangyFin24/cut down to 22 and crossed my fingers I would get going. Huey was smiling on me and it was good times on the little board. The wind picked up and the penny finally dropped that the with such a high tide the inside run at Fangyland would be open for business. I knocked out a few runs and then thought I would test Huey a little more. I replaced the fin with a FangyFin20. Unbelievably Huey came to the party and I had great fun charging down the inside. Blowing your own trumpet counts for almost noting, but gee I am stoked with the little fin. It has the same surface area as a Delta 16 so for me pairing with a 6.6 is a big ask.  It required a bit of speed to lock in, but although the angle of attack was greater than the 24, I was still able to get up to the top of the run on one tack. Downhill, over the small chop it was perfectly behaved and I pretty much just sat back, enjoyed the ride and demolished a few burgs in the process.

As good as that was, it wasn’t the highlight of the day. There were a few to choose from. Capn Calm knocking out serious, serious distance like a machine, supported by the Good Samaritan Swindy to start. Catching up with Pepe, Iain, and Toby, and later Fin,’Ken, and  the rest of the fellas out sailing was good for the soul. But the highlight was Cirque de Sludge who attempted a half double inverse pike with a twist, gybe. I cant really explain it but bloody hell, it was funny to watch.

I am stuffed, but can’t complain 'cos I know the 'September-pensioner' has done the double ton today. Awesome work Mike. Absolutely a Top Ten Fangy Day.

That was a fun outing in the smoooooth stuff, but spent too much time with the GPS 5.8 and not geting it to rotate properly,...

So went with old tushy Raptor 5.4 in the 46 board and a super weedy El60 17cm to slice through the weed,,, oh what fun, as there

was plenty weed all around, even thogh the tide was up.    Laughing

Peel Inlet, WA, AU. CA SL52, then SP47, GPS6.0, ChocoWS28,BP WS50-25, Vector WS23. Fantastic day, out with Hardie, Elmo and Boz. Mission today was a good hour, with the hope of a good alpha while I was at it, so pretty pleased with the result.  Went out with the CA52 and BP50-25 at first, but that was a bad choice as the water was fairly rough by Liptons standards. Changed fin to the Choco and much better. Geez an hour takes a long time, to and fro across the channel, 5min from finishing my hr lost concentration and dropped a gybe, but was able to get back on fairly quickly.  After that I grabbed the SP47 and joined Elmo and Hardie doing speed runs at Point Grey.  A great fun day, Im buggered now!!Cool

Coodanup, WA, AU    Pat F Race 140, KAR 7.9, FF24 then Pat sl100, KAR 6.3, JP weed 27@50

Turned up at fangys at 8.30 only to find that Mike and Iain were already on the water.  Riged some big gear for myself and a 7.1 and Pat F Race for our visitor Greg from Lake Maquary. Man I found the big gear hard work was hoping to do some awesome kms today to back up the captain but the big stuff sapped most of my strength and put an end to that idea. After 50 km headed in to pass Greg heading out on my kit. After a couple of doughnuts for lunch I rigged the 6.3 for the first time and the 100 slalom.  What a pleasure after the big kit. The fin being quite long for the thick weed was slowing me down a fair bit so when I got to boundary island I decided to go for a decent Hour out in the ruff stuff over to yunderup and back. In places it was just like sailing on the open ocean, some of the swells were over a metre and quite steep. This added to the fun as my footstraps were quite loose which is fine on the flat but made for an arse clenching ride when the board was airbourne. Super stoked with the hour in such rough conditions, thought it was only about a 23.

on the last session I was cramping up quite badly but attempted a few speed runs and alphas. on my last alpha attempt went screaming in to the turn but stuffed up big time and had to bail on my arse. More weed growth expected at creery end.

Great day and great to meet Greg. I think we all had a ball.

What a lot of fun!!!

Great to be out on the speed board.  No worries about getting going and although Fangys wasn't all super smooth there was still some great smooth spots and if you lined up a few of them you could string together a decent naugty, with a few exciting rough patches between.

Just had such a nice sail down at my local and really happy to get out.

Congrats to all the PBers! Amazing to see the captain clocking over 200Ks, amazing!

Woohooo, what a fantastic day!!!!!!!!!! Great to meet Greg, nice Swindy lent hime a rig.

Only problem for me, the early wind wasn't quite there, I used too much energys groveling around in the lulls, so didn't have enough energy to keep sailing in the good wind. I had to keep stopping to have a rest so didn't make Daffy's 250km.

I started off with the big gear 65cm board, 6.6 sail and huge 55d deltoid with fillet. Then changed down to 5.8 on the 48 with 19cm 55deg timber stainles carbon, during lunch.

Found some fairly flat water, off boundary Island, great angle for a long bear off, almost a NM long, very pleased with the 31, as some of it was in less than smooth.

Oh yea, must go and calculate my fantastic fangy five score. My calculator says 329.487

Well that's interesting, the GT31 is a bit more generous than the watch this time. I wore the GT31 on my head in case the watch ran out of battery, but the 1.5 hr charge over lunch and rig change was enough to just get it through, I had no bars left when I came in.

So here's what the GT31 says.

2s 35.193, 5x10 34.545, 1hr 17.452, @ 24.964, NM 32.019, dist 204.55

Here's my tracks, you can see the NM run at thebottom of the picture.
