Burrum Heads, QLD, AU

Hard day to pick at Burrum today, awesome run up to the top of the course in good steady breeze. Start time kicked in and the wind eased back to almost planing condiotions. A few good gusts came through mid session but died off again. Should have rigged a bit bigger in hindsight.

Nice soft session in 15knts at our local with Benny "The Lad" McCarthy. Not consistant breeze but overall, no complaints especially after a week of hacking ones lungs out. Glad thats over and great to be out in the deep blue again. Benny really spent some time on the rigging of his Overdrive today which really showed at times. He was doing very nicely in par conditions. Went home with a gratified smile - well done mate.

Hopefully, we can get a few more of the lads on the water tomorrow when the expeted breeze increases to 15-20 knts. I hope the lads at Burrum get a decent session in over the weekend.

Fun little light wind arvo sail with B1 in the "Holloway's Smooth"!  Didn't muck around today after finishing work later than expected... took one board, one sail & got out on the water mid arvo around 230pm- 15knot average winds with lots of holes.  Rigged the 7.8 Severne OD with 135 Exocet & BP 47.5 fin.  Set the sail much better today with the cams rotating nicely- got up on the plane fairly comfortably considering the lighter conditions.  A big difference noticed between the ol' Exo board & the Futura (looking forward to getting the Futura back out on the water after the repair).

B1 looked to be having a good time out on the water taking home the chocolates Cool

Lonely late morning sail to grab the last of the tide. Wind very hit and miss but enough to plane most of the time. Ocean is looking fantastic, nice and clear.  Not quite Burrum but a nice sail regardless.

Way overpowered when the squall came through. Kept getting lifted all the way down the bank on the NM. Put on the smaller fin and then the wind backed off.

Good to meet Snorkel and Phil at Windfest. The boys looked like they had a great time, did some big k's and picked up some pb's as well. If they are like me I am shattered after 3 big days on the water. Hope to get another day at Burrum today.

Cheers Dave, yep feeling a little weary today but pretty chuffed with the event. Great weather and good company.
