Bigger sail would have helped today, the water level in the lake has dropped so far that the gusts don't actually touch the water at times it's a surreal feeling flying along in near smooth water.
Used the  adjustable outhaul that came with the sail for the first time and what a difference it made,it was like having a nitrous oxide switch, going to use adjustable outhaul  from now on.

Hi Tim,

The 48cm fin is actually a 2006 JP australia slalom fin i do have a 37cm sl7 on the way for "speed sailing" in stonger winds (18knots)Smile

I wish i had purchased a board like this years ago...i love it....it floats....it gets me planing quickly....goes very well in light winds and feels like a normal slalom board.....has got some good speed.....my new 7.5 will give me more power and the best part is that the water is always flat when i use it.

Tim you won't get off your 134 once you have ridden it.......see you on the water soon mate.

Thats good to know it was a JP slalom fin, i have a 52 on the way but have not heard too much about them.  SL7's ROCK.

I think my arms will also last a lot longer rather than sinking half of the session!

"Had my first big crash today...and it was in light winds..was cruising along at around 28 knots when i got hit by  a large whirl wind it knocked me flat on my back and sucked up my board and sail at least 6m(the tip of the 460 mast was a couple of meters off the water) straight up into the air.I now have a sore back and neck but it was fun :)"

Did you hit a whirlie? we used to get them all the time when I lived in Renmark - great for freestyle and unsticking the board!

In lighter winds the whirlie's seem to preceed the gusts, got to keep your wits about you because the sail kicks like a bull.

I'm going to Sandy Point over the weekend and might stay longer if the weather looks good.
