First sail after a long winter lay off - good to get back out with some of the crew.

Wind 12-18 gusty at Victoria Point. Got some runs down the bank but the direction was wrong and wind too fluky.

ya hoo I got a sail its been so long. Gr8 day down at VP wind was around 15 to 20 sometimes lighter. Loft demo day so I used a 6.3 & a 6.8 switch blade they were  really good sails very user friendly easy to gybe with good grunt for the lighter wind was not that slow either.

CA 58 & 70

Switch Blade 6.3 & 6.8

Hanging out for a sail and actually windy on the weekend!

But mast popped through the top of sail. Then borrowed Vandos Loft Switchblade and ran into a wire crab pot. Snaped uni joint and took a chunk out of my new fin.Cry

Went  home depressed without a decent sail.

Wello, Falcon 111, Nash Hawai 6.5, Viper fin 35. Decided to go to Wello at the last minute, when I saw the stations show SE. I thought most people would be there, but they were at VP. I would have been better there too in the flat water. Ian Teakle was rigging his 6.6, when I arrived and I measured about 16 knots so I put up the 6.5 , hoping I would last some time after this long lay off, which I thought would be two months, but when I looked up my data for the last sail, it has only been a month. Still for an old guy like me that is a long time of degeneration and loosing a lot of fitness. After the first two runs I looked at my GPS and saw I was on a record speed for the hour, so I kept on going and soon the average speed came down slowly and the lack of fitness started to show. Still I am very happy with the sail and I managed to sail out the hour.Smile

Tricky Vicky, Point, 20+knots  not really sailed here before. Lots of stories of a speed bank and large fish.

A bit over powered in the end IS122. C3 Venom. 6.8 Loft Blade. Happy to be out at last.
