Isonic 101, N 6.6m, Melville

Definitely needed to use the weed fin today.

CR5.6, Sonic85, CHOCO WeedSpeed26. Very low tide at Pt Walter, Had to sail a long way from the sand bar and consequently deal with a lot of chop - where's that 6.1 when you need it???

On my favorite rig- CR6.5, IS86, Drake30 down at Woodies for a blast out in the ocean- thanks Stringer, enjoyed it!!

Woodies is a great place, just polluted with Kites!!!!!

Well done Cheryl on cracking the 1000ks, that's a bit like sailing to Canarvan from Melville.....

The tide was low yesterday down at Pt Walter for me too Sandy- did you hit any rocks cas I did, fortunately no damage.

CR 7.0; iSonic 105; Choco 34...... my favourite combo

Enjoyable after work Melville session in a dying breeze...not many out. Tried for a reasonable 1 hr, but just not enough consistency there.

BOGDog packing up as I arrived. Steve S rolled up as I was packing up.

Great team effort and well done Cheryl.

What time were you out Windrider? I couldn't see anybody at Wally when I went down that way but wasn't really close enough to see with my crap eyesight!

Not bad figures Steve considering the wind died on ya. You would have enjoyed Woodies mate- next time.

Nauli, I was out between about 3.30pm and 5pm - the after school session, and back in time for dinner! Had the place to myself for most of the time Cool

Aah...that's why I didn't spot you in the distance Windrider...I hit the water closer to 5:00.

BTW the CR 6.1 was in the back of my car!

What's your opinion of the Choco Weedspeed? I'm thinking of getting one.

Didn't see you out either Cheryl.....obviously another early bird...

CHOCO WeedSpeed: I love it, and it is quickly becoming my fin of choiceSmile! Seems to have planty of grip going upwind (almost feels like a pointer), and is quick off the wind (put my speeds in context of how fast I normally goEmbarassed) . I have used the 26 with my 5.6 and 6.7 on my 85. Used with the 6.7 it required at bit of nursing upwind, but was still very usable. For you I would suggest the 30 (the largest size) might be a good option.  Don't know why, but the last couple of times I have sailed with the WeedSpeed gybing has seemed easier - perhaps it is something to do with the rake of the fin - more like a freeride fin??

Thanks for the info on the Weed Speed Windrider. I did not know they go as big as 30.... sounds like just what I may need for CA SL52Cool (in water full of weed, rocks, cobblersYell)

Yeah I was thinking the 30 Sandy...I'm sure the gybe-friendliness is due to the rake which theoretically would allow more carve and grip rather than the pointer-style pivot.  My Choco 34 pointer (Fireblade I think) is some sort of prototype which has slightly more rake than the standard one and is a sweet gybing fin with lots of carve-grip.
