Needed a break from the eastuary, so rigged my wife up to go out here, then followed.

Had another try of the old Avalon 5.5, thought I'd try some alphas coming in to the lagoon. Forgot this sail's cams are a bit tight and doesn't rotate easily, having to pump it around, didn't do my alphas any good, also the wind was a bit southerly, by the time I was in smooth water, the wind was fluky. Think alphas are possible here, but with better wind and easier gubing sail.

Finally craked the 30 in the open ocean, did 2 downwind runs home, 30 in both, also pleased I managed a 18.97 alpha in the open ocean

You can see the swim I had at the end of the last downwinder, it got a bit exciting at the end!

Great Sail, went for hr firtst and all set up wrong by the 3rd stop and re-tuning, gave up and went for Alphas, got a string of 23's and the one 24, I know which gybe that was and the 25 kt Alpha is a long way off.  Manta 64, Vapor 6m, LE Weed 35cm.

JPSS 100L, NP RS4 6.7m, JP Freeride weed 36cm + couple of runs on JP Speed 54 & Elmo weed 24cm 45º.

Yyyyyeeeeaaahhhhaaarrrggghhhh, cleaning some brown stains out of the undies tonightTongue out

I don't often say this, well in reality I don't think I've ever said this and I feel almost dirty saying......Hhhmmmmm I think I shoulda rigged a bit smallerSurprised.

The breeze looked pretty good when we were rigging up but after yesterday having it drop out wasn't going to go small, went out with all good intentions of completing an hour, the first run gave us an indication of what we were in for and it just kept on picking up from there.

Was getting stood up quite a lot with the 6.7 and the 36cm weedy was having the board out of the water a fair bit, couple of nice flatish?? bits through death valley where it was a case of close your eyes and say a few quick prayers "...and though I sail through the valley of death I shall fear no weed patchs" like f*ck!!! I was shitting myself waiting to test my impact resistance, thankfully it didn't happen.

Persevered with overhand grip on gybes but sail kept getting blown out of my hands, eventualy one gybe agravated my poor wounded groin which made us pull up short on hour (was crap anyway)

Decided to try out speed board with 24cm fin, was pretty happy with the fin not spinning but definately too small as the flat spot had dissapeared and became a bit lively.

Only damage today was a nice fin cut on the side of my foot which I now have to go and attack with a scrubbing brush and dissinfectant.

Good fun Sailing with HardzCool Yes you were right and I amd a dickhead for rigging the 6.7mEmbarassed

6.2m hellcat, tabou manta 54, 30cm muf weedie.  Had to take the tabou for a blast after the 95 rocket. spent most of the time tuning the new footstraps and mast foot settings. each time I moved the mast foot back a cm I picked up 2knots. This board is quick. With the right fin,  should see some good speeds

Koombana Bay  Gusty Southerly 10-22knts

Quick sail for 40mins used F2 SX63, RS6 7.8m, 36cm F2sx slalom fin.

Wanted to try this combo in the rough stuff. It just flys over the chop. Good LOC trainingCool

Heres a short vid taken at the end of the session with the Speed 54 when I was mucking around with mast base positions.

The 24cm weedy although it feels like it's got some good speeds in it is a little small for this sail and chop resulting in the tail of the board and windward rail digging a bit.

What I'm looking for in this vid is how the waters coming out from under the board and any other faults I can pick up, the cameras been a great training an tuning tool.

Cause the camera's angled down a bit more than normal it looks like I'm traveling at warp speed Cool (I wish)

Was also getting bounced out of the harness a bitTongue out

Hope you like
