Tabou Rocket 140 (74), North Warp 7.8m, Tabou Freeride 48cm fin

Crazy gusty wind that was difficult to sail. In less than 5 minutes I was dumped by what seemed to be a 30 knot plus gust and then fell off to windward due to the wind coming from a different angle. The wind plus sailing in an area of the lake I'm not familiar with that is quite shallow made this a bit of a dangerous and thankfully short ride.

That would have been a handful the 30+ knot gust holding onto a 7.8m sail.Surprised

Atleast your getting some wind down there Karl.

We have another grappy forecast for the weekend up here again. The Southerly you guys got in Sydney never made much difference in Tempature change up here when it hit. Stuff all wind with it.

Southerlies run out of steam as they head up north. When I moved from up there to Wollongong 15 years ago I really noticed and appreciated the strong southerlies in the gong that never get up there. However you pay for it with bloody freezing weather in winter. A nice westerly in SW Rocks where the temperature is about 18 degrees will be a few degrees cooler down south and you feel every degree.

The forecast isn't looking too crash hot in Sydney but that pretty well par for the course so far for 2010.
