| B (37814km): 2 categories   Kyeemagh 15-20 S Starboard S-Type 104, Loft O2 5.9, 30cm Select Viper fin Reallllly late start. Breakfast with the girls didn't finish until 1pm. I think they got a PB for the longest sentence without drawing breath! It was 15 knots when I finally got down to the water at 1:30 so I rigged the 7.4. As I was screwing my fin in, I heard a BANG from my rig. Everything looked fine except for the sharp angle in the mast/luff pocket. Bugger. Mast snapped. At least it didn't break while I was out on the water. This was the mast I was sailing on doing runs across to Kurnell yesterday. Solo for most of them. Dodged THAT bullet! That mast was from y2k, so it's had a great life. Thankfully the Lofts have a huge wind range, so I rigged the 5.9 and had a blast! A little underpowered, but still planing most of the time.

Nice sail today until BANG !!!!! mast broke, out in the middle of Botany Bay. Many thanks to Wayne Bowness who I was sailing with. He went back to shore and grabbed the Stormriders rescue boat. If I hadnt been with him I would still be out there and probably minus a sail and boom as well. Thanks also to Tim for keeping the sharks occupied with all sorts of tricks.
