Beaumaris in a super low tide. A bit of carnage on the rocks with one pretty sick looking JP. I only just touched the fin once and just a small ding luckily. SSD Custom, KaKult 6.4

WA Peli Pt.Aust'Day!... Ka Koncept 15.6Laughing=7.3+8.3,  Starboard Tandem, Drake70.  Headed out on the Swan with mate Tim to get amongst the mayhem on the tandem.  First time on the tandem with someone else, heaps of fun and quite easy once you get your boom hieght and harness lines sorted so as to keep the mast tips from clashing, though deck layout could do with tweaking to get the best performance setup.

A couple of test runs off Peli and then down to freeway bridge by Perth Cbd where heaps of boats were moored awaiting fireworks etc.   Cruising around 20knots the tandem soaked up the chop and slop and had the the Gin Palace/Stink Boats giving way to us as we gave em a wave and passed by getting a sniff of their BBQs and a drool at the booze.

Stopped at the jetski ramp and wandered under the bridge to see if we might sail around into Sth Perth, but all seemed a bit dodgee with wind under bridge for return trip, not to mention the amassing floatiller of more boats.

Headed back to Peli and on the way encounted some building chop/swell from the ferry and all the boats, the type Slowie loves to launch offSmile.   It just got bigger and bigger, and we had some good pace on, then there was this little flat gap the length of the tandem with a almost 2m standing waveCool.  We must of both been thinking sick! and kept on going, and perfectly timed the launch.  I remember the tandems nose sweep up the face skywards, Tim still srtapped in and holding on was now well elevated way up there, and the tail was just at the peak.   I thought it could get all messy Yelland pulled my rig and self onto my back fearing I would clean up Tim.   CRASH....I emerged from under rig to find Tim had landed perfectly sail in hand laughing and going on about how I should of rode it out.

On arrival back to Peli was greeted by Jesper with a new fast haircut, tailing then overtaking us to leeward making for some good footage from camera.  Then headed upto Melville for a rest and chat with Slowie Jesper etc  and back down to Peli for a few beers and watch the fire works.

All in all a top day on the water!!!

Great stuff Spotty!! Love the mast tip flags!!!Cool

I agree that the deck layout is not well set up for higher planing speeds..........

I recon, dump the CB and put two looong mast racks on it so once underway you can both get right back! Tongue out

Kato I was riding the stern for ballast,... smart Coolmove, helmut advisable for frontman, though I did not clip him he did mention a slight whistle as the boom spun past a few times.

Yeah Daffy, I think Starboard have made a few adjustments on the newer ones re track placement etc.

Firiebob theres another better Tandem pic here http://www.kasail.com/windsurfing/index.html  I had touble loading anymore earlier on, will try another pic from the weekend from down south....
