Swan Bay at the end of the Bellarine Peninsula with Red and Jacques from the Connewarre Crew. Always a good laugh catching up with these two but the wind disappointed - forecast 20-30kts but we probably got 15 mins of 20 knots and the rest lighter and gusty with big holes. The wind was probably WNW but I reckon it would be good also in a SW, or NW. Hoped to get a better NM and on a good day this place would be amazing, but kept sailing into lulls and coasting along until the next gust. Huge long runs possible here and water mostly knee to waist deep and quite smooth. Changed down from 6.6 Koncept to 5.8 Koncept when the wind was at it's peak of 20 knots or so but didn't change down my 31cm weedie which meant I was a bit over-finned. Really enjoying my new (second hand) JP slalom board! Smile

2007 85L JP slalom board with 31cm JP weedie, KA Koncepts 2007 6.6m and 2009 5.8m

at the pit on a 15-20 kt wnw. tried to back peter for a nm. easy runs from the caravan park to the car park. bit of fun after 3weeks in nz looking for kiwi sailors. couldnt find any. had a gander at linfield run with low tide & 20 kts but no sailors. had a yak to decrepit & family who are on a flying visit to vic but he was not kitted for a sail.

Thanks for showing me The Pit Mal, looks like you got a NM.

Spent the weekend at Mallacoota, that looks like it may have a bit of a run at the moment, not as long as the pit, but the sand isn't as high.

PS Mal, just checked the rankings, on the International we're equal, but on the Aussie list I'm just ahead.

But I'm going to have to lift my 2sec if I want to stay ahead.

"had a gander at linfield run with low tide & 20 kts  but no sailors"????????????

Mal, I live/ work  & overlook the lynfield speed run everyday.

There has been no 20 knots of wind for months & the usual 30knots hasn't blown for years since the inception of these GPS sites.

When did you find the 20knots at low tide???

Thanks Andrew, would have been great, but we had no time.

In Canberra now, next stop Brisbane.

May do a road trip next year, with some gear.
