Didn't feel up for Green this morning so had a cruisey sail at Port Douglas and tried the new 6.4 koncept. Wasn't enough wind but felt a lot nicer than the 7.7 H2.

Kermit, CA50, 7.7 H2, 6.4 Koncept, Venom 42, Casper 29.

Green Island tomorrow.

Green Island, New Ca 50 added more than 2kts to my peak speed today, but ruined my hr alpha and distance.

Used my VmG 6.0 until my waterstart foreward loop combo's started to give me the sh*ts.

Rigged up the 5.4 and changed fins from my venom 30 to cam's maui ultra 24 and had a ball.

its gunnu be a cool showdown... would have been great to join you guys.

Kel- The SP 50 has a sweet spot for gybing. A couple of tricks that work surprisingly well in surprisingly rough water-

1) DO NOT lay the sail over to try to get the forward rail to penetrate. This might work on slalom boards and wave boards. It does not work on the SPs and will end in a splash or at best a very ordinary gybe. The SPs gybe off the tail!

2) Stay quite upright over the back of the board and let the board do the turning off the tail. Do not force it in chop. It will go around... be patient :)

3) Mast foot pressure- push your front hand down a lot more than you think you need to. This will stabilise things significantly and let you keep your weight further back.

4) Bend za knees.

Thanks for the gybing tips Mr boat, the board feels greatCool, will sort out the gybes when the wind is less than 30Tongue out.

Just one question, is this too much mast foot pressure or just laying the sail down a bit much?

Was trying a new technique to get more lift from the sail by submerging it. Yell Bloody cameras!

Yeah I laid the sail down too far, and lost my balance leaning too far forward and fell over. oops.
