Stoked to get a 40 display again (40.33) but mean realspeed knocked it back to 39.85.

Got to Wallyworld to see Recycle and Slowboat already there. Windy but really choppy with a very high tide.

Rigged the koncept 5m and chucked weight in the vest plugged a choco 24 into a borrowed JP speed 45 (Thanks Slowy / Reg).

Smallest speed board I have ever sailed at 53L. You really notice the lack of volume in the gusty Wallyworld conditions but boy it felt quick off the wind!Smile

Wind was very west to start and Slowy was the wind dummie with Claude, Recycle, Steve M and myself spectating.

Watched him doing a couple of runs with the board hopping through the vicious chop at the end of the island.

He came in and wind went more W so he ended up almost at Claremont and then the wind turned off. We were still in wind so were not sure if he had broken kit. tried to call for a pick up in Dalkeith but noone over there. Then his mum and dad arrived and they werent keen to drive round and get him. His Dad got a boat to go out and get him but he had too much Pryde for that.

Wind filled in a bit and I took the weight out of the vest before heading out (glad I did). Much swimming with the odd spot of planing ensued. Slowy then came to join me as we stood on the bar for 15 minutes trying to decide whether to call it.

One strong patch of WSW allowed about three runs before it disappeared. Managed to catch one double gust tight in to the bottom of the bank to squeeze the 40. Woohoo! As always those few runs on a patch of really flat water make up for all the rest.

Got sucked in to one more outing but spent it swimming and decided enough was enough.

Thanks again to Slowy / Reg for the loan of the JP. Takes some sailing but feel the rush!Cool

Awesome work Mark. Cool

Sounds like a typically frustrating Wallyworld session, with the sweetener of a great peak to make the pain worthwhile!

hey sam- you didnt miss anything- my phone battery went flat just after I told you it was going off (cos it was while I was rigging!!!) BUT as soon as I got halfway up to my first run the wind swung to the W and it was all downhill from there- including 40 minutes of swimming... uuurgh. Mark did really well considering it was more gusty than normal today (I think?!).
