I hate sailing at Shoalwater and today was just another one of those days, overpowered with wild chop and a bit of swell rolling in was impossible to open it up and get some speed going but with the new futura i made it further than i would have on the old isonic

Quick sail after work with Benderman, wind had been blowing hard from about 11 this morning till just shy of when we hit the water.
Pepe this morning had said he was having problems with Snot catching on his weedy which he had altered the rake on, Trust me Pepe, it wasn't the rake, F'ken stuff was everywhere, floating, attached to the bottom growing up from the depths, it was F'ken everywhere and stuck like sh1t to a blanket, even managed to get some up my luff sleeve.
Interesting sailing with Bender who rigged for the gusts where I rigged for the lulls, glad I did, sail was a handfull only once, managed to glide through a few lull.
Well happy with the new kit, starting to suss the set up, think theres some good alphas (for me) on this.
Sorry Pepe for the poofteenth
Thanks Bendyman, it was fun

5754 days ago Wow that was exciting, pity you missed it Bendy man you would have loved it!!!!!!!
Had to take the new speed board out here, no horrible weed, cobblers or crabs and NW thru to W is a much cleaner wind than Novarra and I wanted to try the new, (well not so new now, but I haven't sailed it yet) 4.6.
Wind was a bit light when I went out so rigged the 6.0 with the Ado 23/24 lockwood. Was groveling for the first 2 runs, (hard work on the 48cm board) but then the clouds went away, the wind picked up and steadied off. Chris and Cory who were both on 5.0 wave sails changed down to 4.5s, very pleased to say the Avalon 6.0 was fantastic, the acceleration with the new board, is something I haven't experienced before. Scared the pants off me at times, although there wasn't much chop, the tide was higher than I thought it would be and a fair amount of swell was getting over the reef. In the southern corner where the sand bank has built up there were knee to waist high waves breaking all the way from the reef to shore. First run I picked a line just in front of a waist high wave, almost dead flat there, but I was heading straight for a shallow sand bank, had to change course over the back of the wave quick smart. Wind was quite square most of the time so couldn't get much of a bear away, was very pleased with the 32.09 on the dial.
Came in for lunch hoping Bender would join me when I finished. Rigged the 4.6 but wind had died a bit, clouds came back and it got very gusty, made the lulls very hard to manage on the small board. So gave it away.
Should have kept sailing and had a late lunch.
Hey Bendyman, the ruler is .97km
