Despite a very poor forecast for the Saturday the organisers decided to run the first day of the Irish Speedsailing championships at Lady's Island in County wexford. As people started to arrive for the briefing at 10.30 a few people decided not to travel down which for them was a mistake as the wind soon picked up to over 18 knot wind minimum and the days result became official.

It was hard to achieve any decent speeds due to the big chop but i was happy to achieve close to 30 knots in these conditions as it was pretty gusty and it was great training for Weymouth speedweek next week
