Majestic Point, WA, AU

On the water @ 7 with the Futura 111 + 7.6 TR7 + 40 Sting.

Looked windy, but I was mostly underpowered for the first 45 minutes.  Snapped a harness line all the way over at Peli and had to sail back to Majestic unhooked. Yell

Decided to change up to the XFire 135 + 8.5 Koncept + 45 LE weedie.

Well powered on this set up.  Went for a few alpha's in the Peli flats (used a weedie so I could charge in without fear of the snot weed).  A few nice planing gybes on the big girl, so disappointed to realise that my GPS was out of charge.  Second Yell for the day!

OK sesh, would've preferred to be on the F111 in the confused chop, but the conditions were too variable for that combo.

once again missed the best of it but had fun

strange figures show i got a full planing NM but didn't get a planing alpha ?

well i sure wasn't powered up enough to do anything good but surprised that i was still able to get planing in the 10 knot gusts at about 2:00 pm

bit of fun at point walter early on with Mark issac and john (recycle).

102 felt a bit better tuned but still not quite right, feels like im going sideways rather than forward. using a 34cm rocket but would like to try a 36 if anyone has one.

Cheers,

jonah

Nice to have a sail with Bender. Late afternoon in gusty conditions but happy to get on the water.

Congrats on the arrival of the new Mini Bender

Second day of SB course. LOTS of light wind practice with very low speeds. I guess the 'edit' removed those very slow speeds, hence the 0.57kms total distance. Must have been nore than that, at least 3 or 4 kms!

Didn't get day 3 but it was similar. Battery low.

I found Simon a fantastic instructor, and the low wind practice the most valuable. Overall I experienced the course as 'demanding': partly because of three consecutive days of being on or in the water for around 5 hours per day and doing lots of uphauls; and partly the demand on the brain (and ego) of having to deconstruct bad faults. Wish I had done that 10 years ago, still hopefully have another few years to get those faults sorted.

I had a hip injury about 10 days before the course, which got fixed by the physio just before the start day, so I am very happy that it held up for the duration.
