A quick sail before going out tonight. Iso 101 and 6.7m Odrive, with new 30 Choco weedie. Felt good.

Was a handful in the gusts but good fun anyway.
Would have liked smaller gear but left it all at home as I was sceptical of the 18-23 knot forecast(which was meant to be coastal and 5 knots lighter on the river),caught up with Anita as I was packing up and had a chat with Nic on arrival

Nice to have plenty of water over the bar today. I still haven't recovered from my catapult on weed three weeks ago ( sore arm).
A happy sail today, a few whoo hoo moments, although never felt fully balanced. I seem to have forgotten how to gybe again. It happens whenever I go for a week without a sail.
A couple of top 5 results (1 hr & nm), so not too bad overall.
Borrowed GPS and waterproof pouch from WWA. Getting some return for my membership $. I found the problem with my pouch was the pegs which hold the pouch between the closers were not clipped into the holes in the pouch top.

An open ocean PB - I had a few deep runs off the north point at Woodmans heading into the channel.
The peak was when the swells aligned and it felt pretty easy. Coming back upwind with the new fin seemed pretty painless too.
Love this fin, seems to be on the edge of slight spin-out a lot of the time but it didnt let go once, even over pretty large swells. Stoked.

A really quick sesh - had to be home by 3pm. Started with the plank and no wind. Awesone when the wind kicked - beautifully flat for a few minutes, great fun! Wanted to tested the low end of the 7.8m/XFire102/Talon 38 combo - worked a treat, very comfortable, plenty of drive. This would be a great combo for an Hr. Briefly saw Ricey who like me had a limited window - we both agreed we were just lucky to get out!
Congrats JJ - great numbers for open water.
Had two trips to freo with the wee lads soaking in the ISAF party - great fun. Didn't manage to spot scarrgo but saw plenty of RSX and Finn sailing.
