Dot and I had a change today, joined Ross and Tim at fat boys. Haven't sailed here in a S.S.W. before, so we gave it a try. Good fun, lots of fairly flat water, I think a reasonable NM is possible here, I was a bit short with the 27, if I'd gone a bit further it could have been better.

Unfortunately I had to leave just as it started getting interesting. It was time to change down to the 48cm from the 53 with the 25.5. (well it was 25.5, after a session here it's a tad shorter! The shallows at the Creery Island end have a very coarse bottom, more like gravel than sand, doesn't do the fin a lot of good when you run into it.

Didn't find any really flat water, that was deep enough, to do big bear aways with confidence, may be better with a higher tide, and less crabbers.

Gave Ross a lend of my spare GPS, he was stoked to get a 30.1 on his freeride/wave? gear, on the same run as I got a 30.5 on my speed gear.
