5265 days ago 2 categories Wow what a day! rigged the 5.6 for the first time and took out the AB54 slalom for a run to get a feel for the sail and conditions everything felt nice done a couple of cautious runs and came back in to tweak the sail, after adjusting boom etc looked around and and if someone threw a switch the wind just turned on, windiest I have ever seen it.Went back out again and had no problem holding the sail in the wind just couldn't do anything with the power because of the angle could not get broad enough to release the power and free everything up, persisted for a few runs got lost in one rain squall where i could barely see the front of my board, took the speed board out for a few runs as well and tried some fins out to see how good they were, ended up sitting with Jacques at the top of the run waiting for a lull I got sucked in trying for a run only to be overpowered couple of hundred meters down the course 5m sail would have been fun and I only just sold mine last month thinking that I would never use it great watching the Pit crew using hanky's as sails they were flying, good learning experience next time I'll come abit better prepared, the wind at Sandy really packs some punch, nice catching up with all the heads down there and meeting Jacques, top young sailor( well he looks young )
