Mortimer Bay, TAS, AU

Very quick sail at Mortimer.  Not much wind when I got there, but keen to try one of my Reflex III's so rigged the 7.0m so I could use it on the iSonic 86 or 107.  Ended up using the iSonic 86 with new Sting II 34cm fin.  Sail rigged great straight out of the bag.  Set the extension to 1cm less than the spec and should have raised it up the 2cm, as in hindsight needed more downhaul.  Other than that felt very taut (skin tension?) and cams rotated really well, with no help required.  Sail felt pretty powerfull in the 18-20 knots that blew through at times.  Fin took a little to get used to.  Pointed well and felt big enough for the 7.0, but took a bit to get used to off the wind.  I think this is where I needed a little more downhaul?  Never really liked using my old Reflex 7.0m on the iSonic 86 with 34cm Venom, so this combo definitely felt better.  I think I just needed a bit more downhaul to make it feel more controlable off-the-wind.  Sail certainly felt powerful.  Can't wait to try the other sails ...

Quick light sail off lancelin, very similar conditions to home. Probably could of cracked a 30nm if I layed off more than what I did for longer. Anyway nice to Suss out the finish line, now to suss out the start line tomoz then do the coarse Friday. Forecast has been looking crap but every day in the afternoon it has been swinging around to the right direction and about 18knots. So hopefully we will get the race in. Did some big drags with Greg, dad, James and a few others and that was a heap of fun. Couldn't help myself but do some big jumps in head high waves, after that I came in and the wind dropped off. Finally got a half decent session in after a couple of frustrating days. Great fun jumping the sandbar waves across the Swan river entrance. Andy (lankstar) had a bit of fun to, strong currents were testing us both but.
