Pinky is gone....Went to South Fremantle, WA, AU with Pinky and Perky (Mistral one design and Iso 86) rigged 7.3 and putted out on next to nothing. Their was more bikini distractions than wind so naturally I gravitated to those with "the gumby move"! Thats where you look like an idiot as you fall off every tack and gybe close to shore. Lack of pressure in the sail, bit of chop and not properly securing the mast foot all make a pleasure cruise turn sour.

So self rescue into the inferno of flesh. straddled the pinky, foot of sail on nose and hanging onto mast and boom. Pretty elegant and the locals seemed impressed. Impressed that I did not run into them!

It was the morning after, the walk of shame lugging gear into the carpark, dodging more temptations and rubber neck head to look,     ;-)  where I was going.

Cursing under my breath I looked like the crazy man- body armour on, ridiculous in the heat, like Mad max striding across the grass.

A friendly wave of Laoshi greeted me, and fellow wise men under a tree. I was amongst my own kind again, they knew, they would understand me. And he introduced me to Brabo my own team mate for the first time and then  Iintroduced him to Col- its a small world.

JJ was not detered by my hard luck story and the lucky man he now has pinky in his shed- thanks mate. I think you have more time than me, and a history of one design sailing to get it out there.

Now fellow windsurfers this tale might be full of my dissapointments on the water, but windsurfing is great! I saw 10 kids falling off an unrigged windrush fun 11 having a ball. Thats the stoke, right there!

Always a lot of work when not planing (so much for the forecast 20-30kt SWer). Hopefully there will be enough tomorrow but I'm not encouraged by the forecast being S/SE.
