About 12 to 15 knots I guess. No wind at all north of belmont bay.
Reflex 4 8.6 metre, Tabou speedster 79 wide, and the 56 cm fin out of my SLW 90.
I thought I might give the 56cm fin out of my SLW 90 a go on the 79 wide speedster. The speedster is 56cm wide at the one foot off mark so technically it's within the limits of the board. The fin has a bendy tip and a fairly low surface area so I thought it was worth a try and yeah.. it felt great with the 8.6 actually. Very powered up I felt like I was sailing in 20 knots. I'm a little dissapointed with 27 knots but not suprised as that's about the limit my horsepower can manage with that fin. But yeah, from now on when I run the 8.6 on the speedster I'll use the 56cm fin I think. All the extra horsepower feels great and it bolts upwind lol. I also try out a small strip up inside the channel. It's very short but the water was flat enough. I got my best run up there. It provides a nice bear away on starboard tack. The spot is what people call off the airport but the breeze I was getting was actually funneling down through swan bay. I might give another go on a windier day. Hardcore gps sailors would probably call it pointless due to the short length but the bottom line is I enjoyed it quite a lot. I thought the goggle earth picture would be out of date but I moved the slider to 2014 and it's actually spot on to what it was like.

Great turn up for the first slalom/gps event of the season
bit choppy and patchy wind for the first session but the second turned it on pretty nicely.

Kyeemagh, NSW, AU GPS free race day. 7.6 tr9 rs4 111L 39 v max then 43 v max.
First half hr. session totally underdone, lots of holes and didn’t plane for the last 5 min.
Second 1/2 session was much belter and really enjoyable still wanted allot more but it was fun.
The first session belonged to people with 8.5 but I think the 7.6 was ok for the second session.
Great numbers 30 people involved in this new fun event. Hope people support the GPS and will come to Gerroa and Lake Macquarie for these fun events.
You really have no idea how you went with all the disciplines included all good fun.
Congratulations to every one great meeting new people.
Thanks to event organisers Brett and Adam and our captain James who will be working overtime tonight formatting the results.

Exocet Sting 134, Mauisails TR8 8.4 - wind NNE 12-15 kts
Perfect day down at Kyeemagh for our first freerace. I got there a bit late and missed the first 1/2 hr session, but by the time the second one started wind had improved and I was well powered on the 8.4. Pretty pleased with speed for the big gear.
Great to see so many people down there, catch up with some old friends, and meet some new ones. Thanks to everyone who came along and got involved. Looking forward to the next few events.
Should have the results done tomorrow night. Keep an eye on Seabreeze NSW forum.

Futura 122, Retro 8.5.Did some dogging and semi plaining before putting the 8.5 on an old mistral devil formula board.Width and long(700mm) fin make all the difference in marginal wind. Had some nice runs and felt comfortably powered ,a smaller fin would be nice for same back and forth blasting in medium winds.Up and down 8-12+ knot E/N/E.
