Byron Mcilveen (63644km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU 6.6tr9 44 ca and 21.5cm home made weed fin. first session then put the rs2 with 19cm home made fin in. Underpowered just over 20 knots of breeze 7m would have been beter if I had one. I actualy tried to do an alpha today and look what hapens even underpowered. nice sail with friends now have to go to work
rus13b (5064km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU 6.2 reflex 98lt f2, 24 weedy. first sail from buff point, took a bit to find it but its another great spot dwn the cen coast. it is shallow but dont need a delta to sail there, they just help get further into the shallows & flater water, even though its flat were u use a normal weedy. nicely powered on 6.2 at times then it started to get a bit gusty, just enough to plane then powered up. great sail with milsy, byron, sue ,frothy, pugs, matt d, paul keep up the great sailing all, c u all next windy day.
sboardcrazy (24418km): 15-25+Kts SSW Buff Pt Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU. Wasted 1.30hrs rigging.. so I was in a foul mood by the time I got out. I'd decided to try a larger sail with the 78ltre Pocket wave - use a 6m overdrive..First run boom too high.. back in..next whoa! ( after spending ages trying to get into the flat area) dangerously overpowered so back in and 4.8m Hucker rigged. 6m with 78ltre felt RS anyway - couldn't point as I can't pressure the fin ( 18cms fremove) and sail pulled down over my head as I was overpowered.. Pointing 20 degrees lower than slalom guys and spent half my life just trying to get high enough to have a run..Still got the best speed with that combo ( with a flat bottomed fin..) When I came in after 1.30hr I realised I'd gouged 1/2cm off the bottom of the 18cm fin beachstarting .. I felt it hit the rock but I didn't realise I had done that much damage.. So not sure if the pilot was crap or the gear had an effect on working upwind..Earlier bad mood meant I couldn't be bothered trying to gybe properly and I was a total gumby- stepping on my own feet , missing the boom when I went to grab the other side.. Hope I'm better next sail.. Back out with 6m and 95 Tabou Rocket + 20cms delta - much better combo upwind! I could do in 2 tacks what the waveboard took 4 or 5..Few bearaways that felt fast including one where I almost got thrown over the front ( most powered up ever.) but no decent speed.Wind was dying by now anyway . Thought I might have done some distance ..ugh..aches.. Milsy , Pugs , Matt , Rus, Bryon ..others? brain fried too tired.. Grinding along the bottom a lot today..
