I truly believe the weather/summer breeze in Perth is faked, I seen it happening for the last 3 years, the breezes dying more and more. I prefer waiting for wind here that in Perth . I dont think wld have been a good idea for you here wiz your leg, that wld have killed you, without the weeds, it has become really hard to walk and take off!!
