Holloways, Kermit, '17 6.6 Koncept, Talon 40, not much breeze.

The new sails arrived yesterday so had to give it a try. There were a couple of planing runs and a lot of grovelling.

Got to love sails that rotate easily when there isn't enough wind to push the cams around.

Sailed with Gaz and Ben at Holloways. ....usual story.....looked better than it was!!

Even though it was a little on the light side had to have a blast to try out my new

KA Kyote sail. Board and rig felt 'rough' if that is the correct word but looks flash.Cool

Port Douglas, QLD, AU.. Quick blast after work ,hit the water just after 3.30 on 117 Isonic and Gaza's old 7.7m Niel Pryde which he flicked of to me a few years back, and 44cm select fin.wind was 13 to 15kts,and we had the tide from hell running all arvo. Had to stay realy hard on the wind the whole time to avoid doing the' walk of shame'..Even on big Isonic which pulls real hard going up wind..Snapped one of the main straps on seat harness Just on sundown so it was game over for me.. Was a bit pissed about it..That seat harness has only done about 10,000KmsYell..Andrew came for a blast and road tested his new S Type North 7.8m he bought in Noumea for next to no money..He said it had plenty of grunt and was easy to handle..Think he is happy with his new investement. .All in the name of fun..Cheers Ed..

After a big week of work a great way to shake the cobwebs - had been cursed by a bit of a lower back flare up the last month or so - but not today - which is good.  Sunshine and a marginal breeze and a wicked tide/current.  Got some good runs on the iSonic 133 = big fin and my new acquisition - the North S Type - 7.8m - my first real foray into the cambered sail world.  From the get go it felt really mature  - stable - surprisingly easy to rig and de-rig - Ed gave me some tips to stop broken battens.  Lots of grunt.  This sail is going to be a step up from the no-cam - but, not a full on slalom sail.  I think it is going to suit me.  Ended up getting knocked down the beach, but sheeted in the adjustable outhaul and did some real old fashioned sailing into the breeze to get me about 100 metres from home.  Nice way to end the week.  I guess at this time of year we have to be happy with anything we can get.  Still hoping to get a GI session in before the wind goes forever again.  Great to see a few of the crew got out and into it today.Cool

Firie - I've got a 5.8 sitting here as well.

Phil - Still the original Kermit. Must be going on six years now!! Kermit has a smaller brother now(Jaffa - orange with a carbon deck). The Talon is still going strong although it hasn't had much use this year due to a serious lack of wind.

Hi Troy, na they've changed from width to liters. Replacing my SL58 for a SL87 which is 59 wide and a bit shorter but the replacement beast. My last two SL58's felt the same to me but the new ones are different, I'm so looking forward to sail it but I'm stuck in Cairns and it's in Mandurah. My light wind board is a CA SL66 which is also my go to board at Coodanup Mandurah because it floats me best in the shallow stuff on take off EmbarassedLaughing
