A couple of great broad reach runs along the bank but serious lumpiness at the end of the runway. Overall I had the wrong size curtains up today and got rightfully flattened as a result. Certainly not suitable for the 35-38 knot gusts that caught me whilst desperately trying to manoevre at speed between 2 large catamarans (thoughtfully anchored on our racing line) and a couple of crab trap floats that had seemingly vanished in the white caps. Over the handle bars goes I and was greeeted on surfacing by a vicious rap on the helmet from the mast. Luckily I had the next 15 minutes under the sail, unable to waterstart and sheltering from the howling SSE'er, to contemplate life and all its bastardrys whilst the wind dropped back to normal. Sore shoulder, headache and depressed I went home with my tail between my legs. I'll try again tomorrow when it's more in the SE and less gusty.
