Caught me out by coming in harder than forecast. I foolishly had not packed my small gear, think I'd know better by now.
I went out with what I had; my 6.2 Mach1, i97 and 32BPR. On average, the wind was ok for that kit, but there were plenty of stiff gusts that took me into survival sailing. I only sailed about half an hour before throwing it in, knackered already. The B&J boys on small wave boards and 4.8m sails were having a better time of it than us slalomers.
Once again, the water had quite a bit of reed in it, and I saw a small uprooted tree floating (luckiliy quite high in the water, so very visible) near the far shore. Also saw a few carp leaping out of the water yeaterday. PJ (on a six as well) had got up to the reed bank and said it was weedy up there.
Tough day, but still beats the office.
