5-15kts SSE - ESE Belmont Bay (Slipways), NSW, AU

 Severne GT turbo 7.5m - RS4 ( 111ltres) - 38 makani weedy

That was a lot better than I expected..it looked very patchy and I didn't think I'd get on the plane but I only fell off the plane once..

I only had an hr to sail and really enjoyed the first 50 mins odd.

I've never sailed the slips in a SE before and I saw Lyds waaaay down near the sand islands and thought I go there and check it out..A few nice long runs..It was weird , there were patches of 12-15kts then patches of what looked like 5kt and glassy chop..but I kept planing through them..a bit like Lake George but with lumpy 1' glassy chop..Smile

I put the boom up a bit higher ( although lengthened the harness lines..? ) and it felt a bit better although I wasn't as powered up as the last sail with that combo. No bearaways..

At the end the wind kicked in a bit and I suddenly felt really tired and wasn't getting upwind as well as I would have liked..I was running out of time and energy so just came into shore at the next available opportunity..

I'll have to suss the area out to see if there are any predictable wind shifts so I can get upwind better..It felt like I was getting knocked as I got more W.

You need an Isonic 127 for days like that just planes through the lulls 😀
