Tricky Bogan (21417km): Well Bird Island call for a revisit this time with Hoppy, Jason and a couple of others. The wind seemed to drop whe we arrived So rigged the biggest I had the 6.3 Loft on the CA101 34 Pointer. Worked my way up wind & decided to check my speed & DUH no GPS. So back in as the wind was fading felt like I had missed it! but hafter I strapped on the GPS & few puffs came along & it looked like Hoppy was having a great time out the back. Ended up a nice session on the other side of the coast, plenty big slop so no speed to be had just a enjoyable bump session, Bit under done but had some nice comfy runs, Had Hoppy hot on my heals a few runs wishing I had more wind as he slowly catching me. All in all a good sail but no speed sailing venue.
hoppybogan (25813km): Warburto, SA, AU Fun sail at a new venue with the guys. It was looking a bit light so used the GPS 6.6, FF102 and BPR 32.5 First time using a pointer fin for years and it did not take long to get a feel for it. The wind was up and down but there were strong patches and i felt comfy blatting through the sea. Did manage to scrape the fin on reef as i sailed too far North but nothing the sandpaper won't fix easily. Only saw weed on the fin once. Thanks for the SD card Richard, she works! Not a speed venue, more a sea dog venue. Enjoyed it! Enduring sailor from the south!
Choco (14530km): Gusty Northerly, did most of my runs through the middle where the wind was a bit cleaner, great to meet and sail with team mate Shane. FF99 6.3 32cm lake Bonney
Sellicks Bogan (7203km): Wow what a day, took the trip Barmera lakle bonney wow was very Gusty, SA, AU went oput with a big sail small board (for me). 7 mtrs 32 CLW and 97 Isonic Had a few nice runs and caught up with Choco on the water, then the wind picked up and wow the 7 mtr was OP and down wind was so not an option, I got slammed a few times and let the sail fill up with water...wow that was fun water starting in the middle of Bonney. in those gusts that 20k's I did, felt like 80.... Decided to walk back to the car ,caught up with Hammer who drove around for a chat and choco came back in. pretty good day in all. I think I might go back when theres a Westerly next time :-)
